Sky Link TV San Francisco
Sky Link TV is the first 24/7 Chinese satellite TV station in the United States. Since its establishment in 1989, Sky Link TV has kept its leading positions, both in its scope of coverage and audience ratings, among all Chinese-language TV stations in the country. Sky Link TV’s parent company is Guangzhou Television Media (aka. GZ Television Media) from the city of Guangzhou, China. In 2012, Sky Link TV launched its second channel in Southern California, a new Cantonese TV Channel (CH. 44.4), with Cantonese programming directly delivered from the Guangzhou TV station, this became the first TV station to broadcast in both Mandarin and Cantonese 24/7 in the United States. In 2014, Sky Link TV launched its third channel, CH. 44.3, to provide programming in Mandarin. In 2015, Sky Link TV has succeeded in expanding its coverage to Northern California by launching a new TV Station in San Francisco – Channel 4.2 to serve the Chinese speaking viewers in the Bay Area.
San Francisco Bay Area has the second-largest Chinese American population in the country. Its three major cities, San Francisco, Oakland, and San Jose has a combined Chinese population of more than 600,000. Sky Link TV is committed to providing a variety of quality programming from Asia on a 24/7 basis, which includes the latest dramas, variety shows, news, children’s programs, and with different types of locally produced programming to this large community. By watching Sky Link TV, viewers in the Bay Area will not only be able to feel strongly connected to their hometown in Asia, but also feel that they have a voice in their own community and beyond.
In order to provide specials of interest to the Chinese community, Sky Link TV invited Dayo Wong, a well-known famous comedian from Hong Kong to host several stand-up comedy talk shows in New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco in 2012 and 2014. The show has been a huge success with great feedback from the community. In addition, for the past 12 years, Sky Link TV has proudly been the only Chinese TV station that has the exclusive rights to live broadcast the Pasadena Rose Parade in Los Angeles since 2002. Channel 4.2 has the widest coverage in the Bay Area, covering all major cities in the San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose television market, and we have created a bridge between the U.S. and China.
